Like a little ice with your bubbly? Moët & Chandon think you might and have launched what it calls its Champagne Ice Imperial for those who do.
The Champagne house’s publicity blurb says Ice Impérial is the first and only champagne especially created to be enjoyed over ice. “A new champagne experience combining fun, fresh and free sensations while remaining true to the Moët & Chandon style, a style distinguished by its bright fruitiness, its seductive palate and its elegant maturity.”
It sounds like expensive nonsense to me but each to their own.
I suppose it is a way of lowering the alcohol content but when that concerns me I prefer to just drink less.
But I do have a friend who uses one of these to cool white wine:
Instead of filling the tray with water freeze some of the wine instead. Chills without dilution.
