Due recognition at last for Barossa rosés with three of them winning trophies at this year’s major wine shows. In Melboune the award winner was Turkey Flat, in Adelaide Seppeltsfield and Canberra Jacobs Creek.
Another nail in the coffin of the idea that warm climates can not produce wines of delicacy. As expressed many times, I believe the constant praise for cool climate white wines is overdone. They taste different to those from a warmer climate, that is all.
Which brings me to this marvellous Knotts Barossa Valley Rosé which suits my taste. It is well made, makes me want another glass, and then it lingers. Reward yourself by introducing this mixed varietal blend to your table. I am confident it deserves to be right up there with the trophy winners but is only $12.50 a bottle.
