The classical Australian blend

Take the classical Australian blend of Shiraz and Cabernet and add Malbec and the taste moves into another place.

Malbec is special and while quality Malbec has become associated with Argentine it has never gained much favour in Australia. I have no idea why as the Stanley Leasingham Clare Valley Cabernet Malbecs of the 1970s were outstanding.

In Langhorne Creek the Bleasdale winemakers have tried to popularise Malbec for 50 years. Perhaps when we have all given up hope it will be discovered.

Wines like this Bagot Station will surely help as while it bonds with Cabernet to bring Shiraz into the blend as well you must get the proportions just right. They are in this wine although the quality of the Shiraz does help.

Glug would like to offer more wines with Malbec, alas supply is scarce.
