Wondering When the Grapes Will Come

Grey skies over the Barossa

Wondering when the grapes will come and what the quality of the 2023 vintage will be has those of us in the winery scratching our heads. This is clearly going to be a different kind of Barossa Valley vintage than those we have experienced in recent years.

Just a quick vintage update. The weather here in the Barossa Valley has been everywhere! With a couple of 40 degree days, followed by a little rain, and then some mild conditions through out the past fortnight ripening has slowed a little.

Some Shiraz from the family vineyard, currently around 11 Baumé.

With mild temperatures forecasted this week as well, the grapes will have perfect conditions to ripen, so fingers crossed for high quality wines for 2023.
