Few vineyards remain in the Reynella wine region that was the home the great wine pioneer John Reynell established in 1838. Now it is a suburb of Adelaide and the gateway to McLaren Vale.
The Reynella Winery is claimed to be the only winery in Australia that can use the name of a town as its registered brand because the winery was in existence before the town was established.
The wines naturally are similar to those of McLaren Vale though its significance now is historic.
